Buying a property or home is probably the biggest purchase/investment you are likely to make in your life. Some property buyers are under the mistaken impression that estate agents play a role in the legal aspect of buying a property. This is not the case. Once you have found a property then all legal matters are handed over to your Solicitor who will close the sale. From a Solicitors point of view it does not matter where you find your property. The work they do is the same whether you use an estate agent or not.
As a buyer, you may be concerned at the prospect of buying directly from the property owner, without using an estate agent. Do not be concerned! You will employ a Surveyor to survey the property, a Solicitor to handle all legal aspects of the property sale and your mortgage company will send out a valuer to appraise the property - exactly as if you had found your ideal property through an estate agent.
